The Text and Graphics groups are unavailable on the Insert tab in ArcGIS Pro

Description

When designing a layout in a project, map elements such as graphics, text, and pictures can be added to provide visual information on the map. In some instances, the Text and Graphics groups are unavailable on the Insert tab on the top ribbon.

Cause

• The Layout view is not activated.
• The map frame in the Layout view is activated.

Solution or Workaround

Depending on the cause, choose one of the options below to resolve the issue.

Activate the Layout view
Click the Layout view tab to activate it. The tab turns blue when it is activated.

Close the activated map frame

On the top-left corner of the Layout view, click the back icon to close the activated map frame.

On the top ribbon, when clicking the Insert tab, the Text and Graphics groups are available.
