PROBLEM
Certain symbologies created in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer are not retained in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder.
The images below show the symbology of a hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer and ArcGIS Web AppBuilder.

In ArcGIS Web AppBuilder
This is a known limitation. The symbologies created in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer are not supported by ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.x used by ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. This is because ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.x is currently in the Extended Support Phase and is retiring on July 1, 2024, as well as its clients, including ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. Refer to ArcGIS Web AppBuilder: Release versions for more information. Hence, no updates and enhancement are made on the older platforms, so advanced symbologies created in Map Viewer are not available in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder. Refer to Technical Support: ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript Life Cycle for more information.
When configuring a web map in Map Viewer, use basic symbology styles. These styles are supported by ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.x and is retained in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder.
As an alternative to retain the original symbologies, open the web map in ArcGIS Experience Builder instead. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Create apps from maps for further instructions. ArcGIS Experience Builder runs on ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 4.x and is planned to reach most of the functional parity of ArcGIS Web AppBuilder along with more advanced features through incremental releases.
