The Notebook tab is unavailable in ArcGIS Online

Description

When attempting to access ArcGIS Notebooks in ArcGIS Online, the Notebook tab is unavailable, as shown in the image below.

Cause

The organization member is assigned a non-administrator default or custom role with insufficient privileges to create and edit notebooks in ArcGIS Online.

Solution or Workaround

Update the member's role to a default Administrator or custom role with the privilege to create and edit notebooks

Note:
Only an organization's administrator can perform the following workflows.

• Change the member’s role to default Administrator to access the Notebook tab in ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Change member roles for more information.
• Update the member’s custom role to enable the Create and edit notebooks option in the Content section under the General privileges settings. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Configure member roles for more information.

Note:
To create notebooks with Advanced runtime, enable the Advanced notebooks option in the Premium Content section under the General privileges settings.
