PROBLEM
In ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, when finding features within a location buffer using the Near Me widget, the buffer ring displays a different distance measurement from the Measurement widget.
The following image demonstrates an attempt to find features within a 1,000 ft buffer distance from location A using the Near Me widget. When measured using the Distance tool in the Measurement widget, the blue line is displayed longer than the buffer ring although it is set with the same distance as the buffer.
The Near Me widget uses a Euclidean buffer by default, whereas the Measurement widget uses a geodesic buffer. For more information, refer to ArcGIS Web AppBuilder: Near Me widget.
In ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, check the Use geodesic buffer check box in the Near Me widget configuration to set the same distance measurement as the Distance tool.
The image below shows the buffer ring of the Near Me widget displaying the same distance measurement as the Measurement widget Distance tool in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder.
