The dissolve tool does not create a count field in the output table.

Description

The dissolve tool does not create a count field in the output table and count is not an option under the statistics drop down.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution or Workaround

1. Add a new integer column to the attribute table and name it Count.
2. Calculate all of the Count values to 1.
3. When running dissolve select to sum the Count field to calculate the number of features being dissolved.
