The Description setting in the Bookmark widget is unavailable in ArcGIS Experience Builder

Description

In ArcGIS Experience Builder, the Description setting is unavailable in the Bookmark pane when attempting to add a description to a bookmark using a card, list, or gallery template in the Bookmark widget.

Cause

By default, the Description setting is only available for the slide templates of the Bookmark widget. Refer to ArcGIS Experience Builder: Bookmark widget for information regarding the availability of the Description setting in the Bookmark widget.

Solution or Workaround

Use the slide template

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online and open the desired experience in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
2. Click the Bookmark widget on the canvas.
3. In the Bookmark pane, on the Content tab, click Select another template.

4. In the Bookmark pane, on the Content tab, under Select a template, in the Simple section, select the desired slide template.

Note: 
The Bookmark widget currently has three different types of slide templates.

5. Click Start.
6. In the Bookmark pane, on the Content tab, under Add bookmark, click any of the created bookmarks to display the configuration of the selected bookmark.

Use the advanced template

As an alternative, the advanced template can be used to replicate the functionality of the Description setting in the Bookmark widget. The advanced template includes a default text box that enables users to add descriptions. The workflow below is the steps to change the bookmark template to the advanced template.

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online and open the desired experience in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
2. Click the Bookmark widget on the canvas.
3. In the Bookmark pane, on the Content tab, click Select another template.

4. In the Bookmark pane, on the Content tab, under Select a template, in the Advanced section, select the desired advanced template.

5. Click Start.
6. On the canvas, click the text box in the Bookmark widget to add the desired description.

Note: 
On the Bookmark widget, click the image to add the desired image to each bookmark.
