The date format for pop-ups and printed maps in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer does not reflect the account settings

Description

The date format used by an ArcGIS Online account does not reflect the user interface on pop-ups or maps printed to PDF in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer.

The image below shows the 'Number and date format' in 'My settings' in ArcGIS Online is set to Australia. However, the map printed in Map Viewer follows the United States MM/DD/YYYY date format instead.

Cause

This behavior is a single sign-on (SSO) authentication method issue, whereby the default settings, license allocations and other configurations are not reflected in the ArcGIS Online user interface.

Solution or Workaround

Use the following workflow to update the 'Number and date format' setting in ArcGIS Online:

1. In ArcGIS Online, click the user profile name at the top of the site and click My settings.

2. On the General tab, navigate to Language, number, and date format and click Update.

3. In the Language, number, and date window, select a different locale for the Number and date format parameter. In this example, Great Britain - Great Britain is selected.
4. Click Save.

5. Click Update again under Language, number and date format and select the initial locale for the Number and date format parameter. In this example, Australia - Australia is selected again.
6. Click Save.

The image below shows a printed map with the Australian DD/MM/YYYY date format. The date is 01/12/2022.
