The Configurable Apps templates are not available in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS

Description

When attempting to create a web app using the Configurable Apps option in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS, the Esri default app templates are not available in the Configurable Apps gallery.

In some cases, when attempting to create a web app on the item details page or Map Viewer, there is no content available in the 'Select a configurable app' window, and the Configurable Apps option is not available when clicking the Create button on the My Content page.

Cause

The Configurable Apps setting is set to a group that does not contain the Esri default Configurable Apps templates.

Solution or Workaround

Complete the steps described below to resolve the issue.

Note:
Only administrators have sufficient privileges to perform the steps below.

1. Log in to the ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS organization.
2. Navigate to Organization > Settings > Map.
3. On the Map page, navigate to the Configurable apps section, and ensure a group is selected under Group. Click Share the Esri default configurable apps with group.

Note:
Alternatively, under Group, click the pencil icon and select Esri Default to include the Esri default app templates in the Configurable Apps gallery.
