The ArcGIS Online option is not displayed when adding layers to a web map

Description

In ArcGIS Online, layers can be added to a web map. These layers can be searched from within the organization, Living Atlas, ArcGIS Online, and so on. However, in some instances, ArcGIS Online is not displayed as an option when adding a layer to a web map, as shown in the image below.

Cause

The security setting set by the administrator limits members from searching for content outside the organization. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Configure security settings for more information.

Solution or Workaround

Follow the steps below to enable members to search for ArcGIS Online layers.

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online with administrator privileges.
2. Click Organization. Click the Settings tab.

3. Click Security on the left side of the page, and navigate to the Policies section. Enable the Members can search for content outside the organization option.
