The Arcade option is not available for a hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online

Description

In ArcGIS Online, the Arcade option is not available when calculating field values in a hosted feature layer.

Cause

This is expected behaviour. In ArcGIS Online, if the hosted feature layer has enabled synchronization or editor tracking, the Arcade option is not available for calculating field values.

Solution or Workaround

Disable the feature layer synchronization to use the Arcade option. To do this, navigate to the item details page of the hosted feature layer, click the Settings tab, scroll to the Feature Layer (hosted) section, and uncheck the Enable Sync (required for offline use and collaboration) option. Click Save to save the edited settings.
