PROBLEM
In ArcGIS Experience Builder, when trying to analyze survey data, it auto-refreshes constantly in a Table widget. The frequent updates on the new survey data make it difficult to effectively examine the data.
The refresh interval setting of the survey data layer is too brief, resulting in the data refreshing too rapidly for users to examine thoroughly.
Configure the refresh setting of the feature layer in ArcGIS Online
A survey created from ArcGIS Survey123 Connect generates a web map. The refresh setting of the layer in the web map can be adjusted by honoring the layer’s settings. The data's configurations are located within the properties of the web map. When it is set to auto-refresh, the layer's default refresh setting in the web map is configured to refresh every 5 minutes.
Refer to Steps 1 through 6 from ArcGIS Online: Set refresh interval (Map Viewer) for instructions. In Step 5, adjust the time interval by manually inputting a value higher than the default time. In this example, 30 minutes are inputted.
Note: Keep the Automatically refresh layer toggle enabled. Optionally, toggle off the button to disable auto-refreshing.
Configure the refresh setting in ArcGIS Experience Builder
Note: By default, surveys generated manually through the Survey widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder are created with the ArcGIS Survey123 web designer. Additionally, these surveys can be incorporated into a Table widget.
A survey created using the ArcGIS Survey123 web designer does not automatically generate a web map. Therefore, the survey data can be configured in ArcGIS Experience Builder. The data's configurations are located within the Data pane in the side toolbar. When it is set to auto-refresh, the layer's default refresh setting is configured to refresh every 10 minutes. The following is the workflow to configure the refresh setting of the survey data that does not originate from a web map.
Note: Keep the Auto refresh toggle enabled. Optionally, toggle off the button to disable auto-refreshing.
