PROBLEM

Some geocoding options appear disabled while using the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service in ArcMap

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

In ArcMap, while using the World Geocoding Service to batch geocode a table of addresses, and clicking the Geocoding Options button to view options, some of them appear disabled. The options include Spelling sensitivity, Minimum candidate score, Minimum match score, Output Options and Output Fields.

Cause

While using the World Geocoding Service as an address locator, the geocoding options appear disabled because they cannot be modified, as they are predefined by Esri before being published as a service.

Solution or Workaround

As a workaround, in ArcMap, create a custom address locator as outlined in ArcMap: Creating an address locator and modify the geocoding options as desired. For more information, refer to ArcMap: Modifying an address locator's settings.
