PROBLEM
It is possible to create and add layouts to projects in ArcGIS Pro. In some instances, using a layout with a large number of layout elements results in slow waiting time after each pan or zoom of the layout, which interrupts workflow.
There are several reasons for this issue. Refer to Problem: Rendering and drawing performance issues in ArcGIS Pro 2.0 and above for more information. Additionally, the following are possible causes related to a large number of layout elements in ArcGIS Pro:
Depending on the cause, follow one of the workarounds below to resolve the issue.
Note: To maintain optimal drawing performance when using labels, refer to ArcMap: Labels.
Remove the halo from the text
Use a preset halo
Change the halo type to a preset.
Use a halo with a single, solid color and no outline
Change the halo type to a single, solid color with no outline.
Disable the map series
