Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

When sdedbtune -o export is run successfully using Direct Connect, this message will appear on the console:Successfully exported file to SDEHOME\etc\<export filename>If the command does not execute successfully, no message will appear and the file is not created.

Cause

When using Direct Connect, the command will not succeed if you do not have access to an ArcSDE license, or have not connected to the license server.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Confirm that you have an ArcSDE license on your license server.

    1. Start the License Manager Tools application on the license server.

    2. Go into the Server Status tab.

    3. Click on the Perform Status Enquiry button.

  2. In order to connect to the license manager, this environment variable must be set on the client workstation:
    Code:
    ESRI_ARCSDE_LICENSE_FILE=<port>@<host>

    Where <port> is the port number for the License manager (default is 27005), and <host> is the name of the license server.
