PROBLEM

Scrolling through an attribute table in ArcGIS Pro returns a generic error

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

In ArcGIS Pro, after connecting to the SQL Server database and loading the tables, the attribute tables can be viewed. However, when scrolling through the attribute table, the following error message is returned:

Although a query layer is built from the table, the error still persists.

Cause

The table contains a composite key (two or more columns make up the unique ID). Selecting only one of the columns for the unique ID during the generation of the query layer results in an error when scrolling through the attribute table.

Solution or Workaround

The following options can resolve the issue:

  • Select the required columns that make up the composite key for the unique ID during the generation of the query layer. For more information, refer to: Create a query layer.
  • Export the table to a geodatabase.
