Description
In the ArcGIS Experience Builder Search widget, there is no option to search directly using values from a related table. The Search widget below shows the search result displaying associated feature information rather than the related table record when a value from the related table is entered as the search value.
Cause
The related table is not a supported search source in the Search widget as values from the table cannot be used to find and zoom to the associated feature. By default, the Search widget only supports the search of features within the widget if the feature layers and locators of the related table is joined to the feature layer.
Solution or Workaround
- Join the table to the feature layer in ArcGIS Online.
- Sign in to ArcGIS Online and navigate to Content > My Content.
- On the My Content tab, select the feature layer to open its item page.
- On the Overview tab, click Open in Map Viewer.
- Use the Join Features tool to join the table to the feature layer. Refer to Learn ArcGIS: Join a table to a feature layer for instructions. In this example, the Search_Widget_Test-Polygon Test layer is selected as the Target layer, and the Search_Widget_Test-Standalone Test table is selected as the Join layer. For the Target field and Join field, the ParcelID field is selected in both the feature layer and the table. For Join operation, Join one to one is selected, and for Output name, Search_Widget_Test_Joint is specified.
- Save the map. In this example, the Search_widget_join web map is saved.
- Enable search for the layer on the map. In this example, search is enabled for the Search_Widget_Test_Joint layer and ParcelID field.
- Configure the Search widget in Experience Builder.
- Open the experience in Experience Builder.
- In the Insert widget panel, under Data centric, drag and drop the Search widget onto the canvas.
- Click Save > Publish.
The Search widget below shows the search using the value from the table to find the associated feature and the pop-up includes the joined table information.
