Process history missing in ArcCatalog metadata

Description

Metadata created using the DOCUMENT command in ArcInfo Workstation is not be reflected in ArcCatalog.

Cause

ArcCatalog is not able to get the history out of a coverage's log file and insert it into the metadata.

Solution or Workaround

1. Export DOCUMENT metadata to a text file.
2. Copy and paste the appropriate selections into ArcCatalog's metadata editor.
   
   

   Note:
   You should do this periodically since the metadata remains static
