Members of a partnered collaboration organization are unable to edit the contents of a group

Description

ArcGIS Online allows organizations to collaborate and share access to content through partnered collaborations. In certain cases, the members of a partnered collaboration organization can access the contents of the group, but are unable to edit the contents.

Cause

This issue occurs when the Shared update designation is not enabled in the group settings. The Shared update designation allows the contents of the group to be editable by all the group members of the partnered collaboration.

Solution or Workaround

Note:
It is not possible to change the Shared update designation for existing groups in ArcGIS Online.

To resolve the issue, create a new shared update group before adding the members involved. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Shared update groups for instructions.
