PROBLEM

Maps configured with a utility network will not load in ArcGIS Field Maps

Last Published: July 7, 2025

Description

An incompatibility issue was found between applications built with older versions of the ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps and utility networks in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5.

This includes the 25.1.0 version of the Field Maps mobile app release on Android and iOS (February 2025), which uses the 100.x version of the Native Apps SDKs. This also includes any applications (written by partners, customers, distributors) that sit on Native Apps SDKs versions 200.1, 200.0, and 100.x.

This issue potentially impacts customers adopting ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 as their initial utility network release, as well as existing customers who may upgrade to 11.5.

Cause

The issue is caused by a change to a utility network data element in the ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 release that cannot be read by older versions of the Native Apps SDKs.

On Android devices, applications crash when attempting to open a utility network hosted in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5, while on iOS, the utility network fails to load.

Solution or Workaround

The development team has released the ArcGIS Server 11.5 Utility Network Patch 1. This patch resolves the change that was preventing full utility network support in applications built with 100.x versions of ArcGIS Runtime SDKs, including the 25.1 release of ArcGIS Field Maps.
