Labels are not displayed in ArcGIS Field Maps

Description

In some cases, labels for hosted feature layers may not display in ArcGIS Field Maps despite being enabled in the web map and visible in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer.

The image below demonstrates how the same point feature is labelled in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer but not in ArcGIS Field Maps.

Cause

Labels are not enabled for the hosted feature layer. ArcGIS Field Maps prioritizes settings associated to the hosted feature layer rather than the settings defined in the web map.

Solution or Workaround

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Sign in with an ArcGIS login for instructions.
2. At the top of the site, click Content.
3. For the selected hosted feature layer, click View details.
4. On the item details page, click Visualization.
5. On the Contents (dark) toolbar, click Layers and select the desired layer.
6. On the Settings (light) toolbar, click Labels and toggle Enable labels on.
7. Click Save.
