PROBLEM
When attempting to share items with a group from the My Content tab in ArcGIS Online, the group is unavailable in the list of groups in the 'Group sharing' window. The same behavior is displayed when attempting to share items such as maps from Map Viewer or surveys from the ArcGIS Survey123 website to the intended group. This is encountered even though the user sharing the item is a member of the group.
The 'Group membership' settings for the 'Who can contribute content?' option is set to 'Group owner and managers'.
To resolve the issue, use one of the following options.
Note: Only group members with the Group owner or Group manager role and administrators with group privileges can perform the following workflows.
Update the group's settings to allow all members to share items
Note: For administrators with group privileges, click Groups > My Organization's Groups.
The following message pops up and the group's contribute setting is updated successfully.
Update the group member's role to Group manager
To update the member's role to Group manager in ArcGIS Online, refer to the instructions in ArcGIS Online: Manage group membership and roles.
Note: To share items as a group manager to the group, navigate to the group's Overview page and click Add items to group. Refer to the Tip note box in Step 5 of the ArcGIS Online: Share items with a group document for more information.
