PROBLEM
Files left behind on disk when performing certain Spatial Analyst functions
Description
Some temporary files are not being removed after some Spatial Analyst functions complete processing.
Cause
This is a known issue with ArcGIS 8.1.
The following files will not be removed:
· The INFO file generated by the Zonal Statistics function.
· The scratch table generated by the Histogram tool.
· Temporary shapefiles that get created when performing certain tasks, such as during projection, format conversion, or selection.
Solution or Workaround
A regular cleanup of your working directory will alleviate this problem. Always remove ESRI grids with ArcCatalog or ArcInfo Workstation in order to remove the associated INFO files.
