PROBLEM

Disabled pop-ups are displayed in the ArcGIS Instant Apps Zone Lookup template

Description

In the ArcGIS Instant Apps Zone Lookup template, pop-ups from certain layers are displayed when a location is searched, even though the pop-ups for those layers have been disabled in Map Viewer. This results in additional, unintended information being displayed and reduces the visibility of the primary information from other layers.

The image below displays the pop-ups from three layers when a location is searched, whereas only pop-ups from two layers are expected to be displayed.

Pop-ups displayed from layers intended to be removed

Cause

The Zone Lookup template determines results based on the app’s configured layers and the web map’s pop-up settings. If no layers are selected during configuration, the app returns results from all eligible layers by default. Disabling pop-ups in Map Viewer only affects interactive map pop-ups and does not prevent those layers from appearing in Zone Lookup results.

Solution or Workaround

Configure the layers displayed in the Zone Lookup results

  1. Sign in to ArcGIS Instant Apps.
  2. Click My Apps. Locate the app and click Configure.
  3. In the configuration panel, ensure Express is toggled on, and click Step3. Zone Lookup.
  4. In the Zone Lookup panel, under Layers to include in results, expand the web map to view the layers.
  5. Under the web map, check the check boxes for the layers to include and uncheck the check boxes for the layers to remove.

The pop-up for the unchecked layer is removed when searching for a location.
