Digitizing produces jagged arcs

Solution or Workaround

Description

Arcs appear jagged while digitizing with a NUMONICS ACCUGRID A90HBL in stream mode of ARCEDIT. Zooming in proves those arcs are jagged.

Cause

This is caused by an EPROM chip inside the NUMONICS ACCUGRID A90HBL. This chip has a smoothing algorithm that conflicts
with the way ARC/INFO interprets stream mode data.

Solution

Contact the digitizer's manufacturer in order to obtain another EPROM, one that will disable the smoothing algorithm. Also, ask for the manufacturer for specific instructions to replace this chip.
