Demos do not play in Internet Explorer 7


When accessing a demo on the ArcWeb site using Internet Explorer 7, a blank screen or an error message similar to the following displays:

"Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly. In the future, you can display this message by double-clicking the warning icon displayed in the status bar."


Internet Explorer 7 contains add-ons that may interfere with browser settings, including the ability to display demos.

Solution or Workaround

Reset Internet Explorer 7 settings:

  1. In Internet Explorer 7, click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Click Reset. A confirmation dialog box appears to confirm the changes. See the link to IEBlog: Reset Internet Explorer Settings in the Related Information section below for more information.
  4. Click Reset on the confirmation dialog box.
  5. Restart Internet Explorer, and view the demo on the ArcWeb site.
