Corrupt characters appear in uploaded data
Description
Custom uploaded data contains blanks where special characters should be. Attempts to use this data may cause errors.
Cause
ArcWeb Services supports extended ASCII characters, but DBF files do not support the full set.
Examples of characters that do not work in DBF format, but are supported in ArcWeb Services are as follows:

Solution or Workaround
Converting to DBF file format may cause a loss in special character information. To ensure that all extended ASCII special characters appear properly, use the Data Manager SOAP API to upload these records using the AddFeatures method.Article ID:000008874
