PROBLEM
In some instances, when attempting to edit multipoint features using the Edit feature option in Collector for ArcGIS, the application crashes.
Note: The functionalities of ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Explorer, and ArcGIS Tracker are now available in ArcGIS Field Maps. There are no new capabilities planned for these apps—all future updates will be focused on Field Maps. Migration is recommended. See ArcGIS Blog: Migrate to Field Maps for more information.
This is a known limitation. When editing a feature class with multipoint features, each point is duplicated and associated with one record. This creates a conflict, hence the application crashes. For more information, refer to BUG-000103686.
To resolve this issue, convert the multipoint feature class to a single-point feature class using the Multipart to Singlepart tool in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro. The Solution section in the technical article, Problem: The Intersect tool generates a multipoint feature class describes how to use the tool. After the multipoint features are converted to single-points, publish the single-point feature class to ArcGIS Online following the steps described in ArcGIS Online Help: Publish from ArcMap. Use the published feature service to create a web map, and sync the web map to edit the point features in Collector for ArcGIS.
