Charts configured in ArcGIS Pro pop-ups are not displayed correctly in ArcGIS StoryMaps pop-ups. Some charts are missing, while others are rendered differently from the original design.

The map below demonstrates the chart being missing in the pop-up.

Cause

Chart configurations from ArcGIS Pro pop-ups are not fully supported or completely translated in ArcGIS StoryMaps. In some cases, charts reference fields or layer properties that are unsupported or unavailable in the published web layer. As a result, the charts fail to render or display differently from the original configuration.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Remove the existing chart element in ArcGIS Pro.
    1. Open the project in ArcGIS Pro.
    2. In the Contents pane, right-click the layer and select Configure Pop-ups.
    3. In the Configure Pop-ups pane, select the previously configured chart and click Remove pop-up element.
    4. Click Close.
  2. Add and populate the reference fields.
    1. In the Contents pane, right-click the layer and click Attribute Table.
    2. In the attribute table, ensure all the reference fields are present. Add new fields if necessary. In this example, the MinMeasure, MaxMeasure, and CentralMeasure fields are added.
    3. On the Fields tab, in the Manage Edits group, click Save.
    4. Populate values for all the added fields. In this example, the Calculate Geometry Attributes tool is used to calculate the Line start m-value, Line end m-value, and Central point m-value properties.
    5. On the Fields tab, in the Manage Edits group, click Save. The newly added fields are populated with the intended values, as shown below.
The MinMeasure, MaxMeasure, and CentralMeasure fields in the attribute table
  1. Share or overwrite the web feature layer to ArcGIS Online. In this example, the feature layer is specified as Test_Chart_Test.
  2. Configure the chart using ArcGIS Online pop-up settings.
    1. Sign in to ArcGIS Online and navigate to Content > My Content.
    2. On the My Content tab, select the feature layer to open the item page. In this example, Test_Chart_Test is selected.
    3. On the Overview tab, click Open in Map Viewer.
    4. In the Layers pane, click the layer.
    5. Configure pop-ups to include a chart. In this example, the MinMeasure, MaxMeasure, and CentralMeasure fields are selected to be included in the chart.
    6. Click Done.
The Configure chart pane
  1. Save the map. In this example, Test_Chart_Storymap is specified for Title, and ForStorymaps is selected for Folder.
  1. In ArcGIS StoryMaps, open the story on the edit page to add and configure the map. In this example, Test_Chart_Storymap is added.

The map in ArcGIS StoryMaps displays the chart successfully within the pop-up, as shown below.
