Description
CAD data features do not fully draw when added to ArcView.
Cause
The cause of this problem is related to three types of blocked entities: Large Blocked entities, Proxy entities, and Invalid block entities.
Solution or Workaround
- Large Blocked entities: ArcView may not display blocked entities with more than 20,000 vertices. If the drawing contains blocked entities that consist of more than 20,000 vertices, use a CAD application to "explode" the drawing and save as a new drawing. Test the new drawing in ArcView.
- Proxy entities: Proxy entities are created by AutoCAD add-ons, whic are similar to ArcView extensions. ArcView does not support proxy entities. If the drawing contains proxy entities, remove them from the drawing using a CAD application.
- Invalid blocked entities: AutoCAD allows blocked multiple entity types, ( e.g. point, line, area, and text.) ArcView will only display blocked entities of the same entity type. If the drawing contains invalid blocked entities, use a CAD application to "explode" the drawing and save as a new drawing. Test the new drawing in ArcView.
