PROBLEM
In ArcGIS Pro, when bookmarks are added or deleted, the modifications are not saved after closing and reopening the project. As a result, newly added bookmarks are not retained, and previously deleted bookmarks are restored when the project is reopened.
The ArcGIS Pro project is stored on a network drive or in a cloud storage service. In shared or synchronized environments, latency, file conflicts, or incomplete synchronization may occur depending on network connections. When the project is closed or accessed before the synchronization completes, changes to the bookmarks may be lost, overwritten, or incorrectly saved.
In ArcGIS Pro, create a copy of the project and its associated files on the local machine. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Save a copy of the current project file with a new name for instructions. Modify the bookmarks in the local copy, save the changes, and copy the updated project file back to the network drive to access the project with the updated bookmarks.
Automatic backups may cause conflicts when working with projects stored on a network drive. For instructions to disable the auto-save feature, refer to ArcGIS Pro: Back up the project. In Step 4, uncheck the Create a backup when the project has unsaved changes setting.
