Batch Project script tool does not transform datums

Description

The Batch Project script in ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Projections and Transformations > Feature fails to transform data from one Geographic Coordinate System (datum) to another.

Cause

The name of the required Geographic Transformation is not given, and there is no drop-down menu provided from which a selection may be made.

Solution or Workaround

1. Go to ArcToolBox > Data Management Tools > Projections and Transformations > Feature > Batch Project.
2. In the space provided below 'Transformation (optional)', type the name of the datum transformation. Underscores must be included, but it is not case-sensitive.
   
   
   For example: To transform between NAD 1927 and NAD 1983 in the 48 contiguous states, type the following string into the 'Transformation (optional)' space in the dialog box: nad_1927_to_nad_1983_nadcon
