ArcView does not recognize world files (.WLD) created in a Macintosh text editor, such as Simple Text. ArcView does not place the image in the proper location.
Some Macintosh text editors can not write the ASCII text equivalent of commands like carriage return/line feed in a format that ArcView can deal with properly.
Solution or Workaround
You have two options:
- Create the world file in ArcView using a script window. Save the file by selecting 'Write Text File' from the Script menu.
- Create the world file in a Windows based text editor (WordPad, Notepad, or a DOS-based text editor). Make sure to save as an ASCII text file.
