ArcView application fonts look strange

Fonts on ArcView's Menu bar, Identify Window, Script Editor Window, Status Line, and other features do not appear correctly.


Possible font setting conflict.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel and double click the Fonts icon.
  2. Select View > Options > True Type Fonts.

    On Windows 2000 and XP computers, select Tool > Folder Options. Switch to the True Type Fonts tab.

  3. Uncheck the "Show only True Type fonts in the programs on my computer." checkbox and click OK. The phrasing of this statement may vary slightly depending on your operating system.
  4. Restart your computer.
