PROBLEM
ArcScene and ArcGlobe do not display *.skp files as 3D marker symbols
Description
When trying to import a SKP file to use as a 3D marker symbol in either ArcGlobe or ArcScene, the file does not display. No error message occurs, but there is a message in the Symbol Properties dialog box beside the import button stating 'no geometry loaded'.
Cause
This is caused because the SKP file is version 5 or newer. ArcGlobe and ArcScene only import SKP files that are version 3 or version 4.
Solution or Workaround
When saving the file in Sketchup, use the 'Save as' command and choose the option in the save dialog box for Sketchup Version 3 or Sketchup Version 4.Article ID:000008975
