PROBLEM
When starting Arcinfo, Workstation or Desktop does not load for two or more minutes.
Incorrect hostname in <install drive>:\arcexe80\sysgen\worklicenseserver.txt and <install drive>:\arcexe80\sysgen\ desklicenseserver.txt.
AND
Incorrect hostname in the Windows Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ESRI\ARCINFO\Desktop\80\LICENSE_SERVER: REG_SZ variable and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ESRI\ARCINFO\Workstation\80\LICENSE_SERVER\REG_SZ variable.
Note:
Do not remove the @ symbol in front of the hostname on any of the files.
Warning:
The solution involves modifying the Windows registry. Be careful not to modify anything in the registry except for the entires indicated in the solution. You can seriously compromise the integrity of your operating system by modifying the wrong entries.
