ArcIMS - ArcMap Server does not correctly display custom fonts

Description

Custom fonts can be used to create custom symbology within an ArcMap document. They can also be used for labels and annotation. In some cases, when serving such a map via ArcIMS ArcMap Server, the symbology, labels or annotation based on the custom font as seen in the GET_IMAGE result is incorrect.

Cause

There are two issues here:

1. The custom font may not be installed on the server.

2. ArcMap Server is not recognizing the custom font.

Solution or Workaround

1. The custom font must be properly installed on servers installed with ArcMap Server.
2. After installing the custom font on the server:
   
   A. Delete all ArcMap Services dependent on the custom font.
   B. Stop the three ArcIMS services.
   C. Start the three ArcIMS Services.
   D. Add the ArcMap Services again.
