Description
After setting up ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint, portions of the app have Arabic text instead of the desired language.
Cause
The desired app language is not selected when downloading the software, defaulting the selection to Arabic, as it is the first language in the list.
Solution or Workaround
Depending on the deployment type, follow the instructions below to resolve the issue.
Cloud deployment
- Navigate to the Microsoft SharePoint site, and remove the app. Refer to Microsoft: Remove app for SharePoint instances from a SharePoint site for instructions.
- Click Settings
> Add an app. - Select SharePoint Store in the left pane.
- On the SharePoint Store page, enter ArcGIS Maps in the Find an app search bar, and press Enter. Select ArcGIS Maps from the list of apps.
- On the ArcGIS Maps app page, click ADD IT to add the app to the SharePoint site.
- In the Do you trust ArcGIS Maps? window, click SHOW LANGUAGE OPTIONS. Select the desired language from the Select Installation Language drop-down list, and click Trust It.
On-premise deployment
- Navigate to ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint: Get Started.
- Scroll to the On-premises section.
- Select the SharePoint Version from the drop-down list, and the desired language from the Language drop-down list.
- Fill in the necessary fields, and click Submit.
- On the next page, click ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint to begin downloading the add-in installer.
- Install the add-in. Refer to Microsoft: Use the App Catalog to make custom business apps available for your SharePoint environment for instructions.
