BUG

Printing is limited to the size of the default paper tray

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

The printer does not produce a printout larger than 8.5" x 11" even if a larger paper size was specified.

Cause

ArcMap's current postscript output engine does not select paper trays. The printer prints to the default paper tray, which is loaded with 8.5" X 11".

Workaround

There are two possible options to print on paper that is larger than 8.5" x 11":

  • The default paper tray (tray1) may be able to be loaded with paper larger than 8.5" x 11". If so, users can print on as large paper as the tray allows.
  • Export the layout to PDF:

    1. Embed the document's fonts on the export options tab.

    2. Use Acrobat Reader to print to the second print tray.
