Printing error in Web AppBuilder applications in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1

Description

In ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1, while trying to print from a web map application, a generic error appears in the Print dialog:

Cause

There are several possible causes:

• Expired SSL certificate.
• Outdated print patches
• Conflict with ArcGIS Pro's version. If the machine has any ArcGIS Pro 3.x versions while having ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1, the default ArcGIS Print tool located in the utilities folder will have a version conflict leading to printing error.

Solution or Workaround

• Import a valid SSL certificate in ArcGIS Portal admin and ArcGIS Server admin.
  1. Import a certificate into the portal
  2. Configure ArcGIS Server with an existing CA-signed certificate)
• Update the print patches: ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 Map and Print Service Patch
• Uninstall any ArcGIS Pro 3.x version from the machine where ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 is installed (especially the server component) will resolve the default printing issue.
