"No meeting rooms available for the specified criteria" in Indoor Viewer web app

Error Message

When attempting to reserve a meeting room in the Indoor Viewer web app, the following message may be returned:

"No meeting rooms available for the specified criteria".

While this may be caused by all meeting rooms not being available at the specified time, this message may be caused by a conflict in the Indoors Data Model, even if there are no scheduling conflicts and there are meeting rooms available.


The AREA_ID field in the Units layer is used by the Space Planner web app to configure office hotels. If there is a value in this field, it causes the unit to be unavailable when attempting to book the unit as a meeting room. Therefore, units should either be configured as office hotels or meeting rooms, but not both.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Use the Select by Attributes tool in ArcGIS Pro to select the features in the Units layer that are meeting rooms.
  2. Use the Calculate Field tool in ArcGIS Pro to set the selected features' AREA_ID field to "null".
  3. Overwrite the web layer in ArcGIS Enterprise and refresh the Indoor Viewer web app > meeting rooms now show as available.
