"Sign in error: Unknown error occurred" after updating the Field Maps application on Android

Description

After updating the ArcGIS Field Maps application on Android, an error message appears when attempting to sign in using an ArcGIS Online account:

"Sign in error: Unknown error occurred."

As a result, the user is unable to log in to the application.

The issue was observed on the following versions, however there have also been reports of the problem occurring on other Android and Field Maps versions:

• Field Maps 26.1.0
• Android 16

Cause

The cause of the error is currently unknown. This has been logged as BUG-000183288.

Workaround

One of the following actions should resolve the issue:

• Reinstall the Field Maps application.
• Use the Clear data and Clear cache options in the Android system settings for the following apps:
  • ArcGIS Field Maps
  • Android System WebView, and
  • Google Chrome
• Change the default browser to Google Chrome.
