MXD file names containing an ampersand (&) return the error, "Error! rasterizing data"

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Printing to a plotter using the ArcPress Printer engine returns the following error, "Error! rasterizing data", when using an MXD file with an ampersand (&) in the name of the MXD file.

This is a known limit. The use of custom symbology (in this case, an ampersand) in the MXD file name causes the error to be displayed.

Remove the ampersand from the MXD file name.
