Last Published: April 25, 2020

Error Message

Previewing metadata even though it was previously created returns the error:

"Metadata has not been created for selected item"
In addition, clicking on the update/create metadata tool results in the message:
"Not able to update/create metadata"

Automatically update and/or create metadata boxes are unchecked in ArcCatalog > Tools > Options > Metadata tab.
The Microsoft XML dll (msxml.dll) has not been registered correctly.
