Summary

Sometimes it is helpful to get insight into the requests the ArcGIS Field Maps app is sending to the portal for troubleshooting.

Standard log settings do not capture each request, as the size of the log file would increase rapidly and has an impact on the performance of the app.

Cause

Use Network Logging to get detailed insight into the requests Field Maps app sends to the portal.

Procedure

To enable network logging enter the Developer mode in Field Maps app:

  1. Tap three times on your user name picture to enter Developer Mode.
  2. Locate the Network option.
  3. First enable Is Logging Enabled and choose to enable:
    • Requests: Log Requests, Headers, and Body
    • Responses: Log Responses and Body
  4. Repeat the steps to be investigated and check the logfile as usual with standard logging.

Don't forget to disable Network Logging after the test.
