HOW TO
FME Flow must use ArcGIS Enterprise software for any Esri binary format support, such as file, mobile, or enterprise geodatabases or Knowledge Graph. ArcGIS Knowledge in ArcGIS Enterprise requires ArcGIS Server Standard as the minimum requirement. ArcGIS Server Basic is sufficient for enterprise, file, and mobile geodatabase support and must be licensed for all cores on machines running FME engines that call ArcGIS executables. You may virtualize the cores on a machine to tune the core count to your actual requirements. For more information, refer to pages 4 and 5 in Licensing ArcGIS Enterprise Deployments in Virtualized and Cloud Environments.
FME Flow can write to an enterprise geodatabase without a local ArcGIS Enterprise installation if meets the following requirements.
This approach uses REST calls, not an Esri executable. For more information, refer to FME Support Center: Connecting to Esri Applications from FME Flow without a license.
Note: ArcGIS Pro is licensed as a single-user app and may not be used on an FME Flow machine to enable Esri formats.
