DEPRECATION

Legacy Mapping Profile in ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud Deprecation

Last Published: April 19, 2024

Description

The Legacy mapping profile setting in the Mapboard window of ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud is being deprecated in October 2024. This setting provides access to Vector Street Map and Natural Earth vector basemaps that are unique to Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. The underlying mechanism that converts VectorStreetMap and Natural Earth maps to design-ready Adobe Illustrator files was based on ArcMap/ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.x, which are no longer supported, as these versions were retired on Jan 1, 2024.

Important dates for the Legacy mapping profile:

Final release: June 2024

Officially Retired: October 2024

Recommendation

We recommend that customers switch to the 'Default' mapping profile setting in Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. This setting offers a wide range of Esri's vector tile basemaps, which are authoritative, well-designed, and readily available directly in the application. Please note that the Natural Earth layers will continue to remain accessible through Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. However, customers are highly encouraged to transition to the ‘Default’ mapping profile setting to leverage the vector tile basemaps as documented in this  blog.
