PROBLEM

“Legacy endpoint is deprecated” error when using Locate Engineering Documents tool in ArcGIS GeoBIM for ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and 11.4

Last Published: April 7, 2025

Description

In ArcGIS GeoBIM for ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and 11.4, with Autodesk Platform Services (APS) applications created on or after December 10, 2024, a “Legacy endpoint is deprecated” error is returned when using the Locate Engineering Documents tool.

ArcGIS GeoBIM on ArcGIS Enterprise configured with Autodesk Platform Services (APS) applications created on or after December 10, 2024 will fail to generate document geometries in the Tools page with “DA job failed” error for all documents due, to deprecation of certain APS APIs.

An example error message in the error log may appear as follows:

{\"reason\":\"Legacy endpoint is deprecated\"}\r\n[01/14/2025 03:40:43] Error: Unable to download file from https://developer.api.autodesk.com/oss/v2/buckets/...,O2tenant.179: Response status code does not indicate success: 403 (Forbidden)..\r\n[01/14/2025 03:40:43] Error: Response status code does not indicate success: 403 (Forbidden).\r\n[01/14/2025 03:40:43] Error: An unexpected error happened during phase Downloading of job.\r\n[01/14/2025 03:40:43] Job finished with result FailedDownload\r\n[01/14/2025 03:40:43] Job Status:\r\n{\r\n  \"status\": \"failedDownload\",\r\n  \"reportUrl\": \"https://dasprod-store.s3.amazonaws.com/workItem/....","type":"error","message":"DA job failed for: YourFile.dwg","objectId":8}

Cause

This issue is related to the deprecation of one of the Autodesk APIs that affects new APS applications created on or after December 10, 2024.

Solution or Workaround

Publish the new ArcGIS GeoBIM geoprocessing service using the updated service definition (.sd) file to replace Autodesk Platform Services (APS) APIs that have been deprecated.

  1. Download the .sd files for ArcGIS GeoBIM on ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3  or ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4 based on the version of your deployment.
  2. If you have published the ArcGIS GeoBIM geoprocessing service using the .sd file included in the ArcGIS GeoBIM installer, delete the published ArcGIS GeoBIM geoprocessing service.
  3. .Follow the publish and configure steps in ArcGIS GeoBIM documentation to apply the above changes.
