Frequently asked question

Is it possible to import features from ArcGIS Online into Esri Business Analyst Online?

Last Published: June 26, 2023

Answer

Yes. Esri Business Analyst Online (BAO) provides the ability to view basemaps, import web maps and add boundaries from ArcGIS Online.

To import features from ArcGIS Online into BAO, use the More Maps option, found in the upper right corner of the BAO interface.

For further details, refer to Business Analyst Help: More Maps.

While web maps can be added to BAO through ArcGIS Online, services cannot be added directly to the map in BAO. However, a service that is included in a web map can be converted to a site once the map has been added to BAO. If polygons are present in the service, they can be converted to sites through the pop-up seen after clicking on a feature. If the service in a web map contains points, then a ring, drive time or walk time can be added through the feature pop-up to create a site. Sites can then be used within BAO to provide detailed reports and analysis about people and businesses within selected areas.
