Frequently asked question

Is it possible to conduct a feature search within a search in ArcGIS Online?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

Yes. In some instances, users may want to conduct multiple levels of feature searches on a layer. For example, users may wish to search for restaurants and filter results to show only pizzerias.

ArcGIS Online offers three templates which can be configured to apply multiple layers of filters to the search results: the ‘Find, Edit and Filter’ template, the 'Filter’ template, and the ‘Finder’ template.

To do this, follow the steps provided.

1. Configure the search filters in the application templates based on the following ArcGIS Help page: Configure a feature search.
2. Create a web map and publish the web map application.
