Invalid verification code when activating multifactor authentication

Error Message

In ArcGIS Enterprise, when configuring multifactor authentication after scanning the QR code using the mobile authenticator app, the following error is displayed after typing the 6-digit code.

Invalid Verification code

Cause

The time setting on the Portal for ArcGIS server was incorrect. 

Solution or Workaround

Adjust the Time setting on the server.

• To set the time and time zone in Windows 11, go to Start > Settings > Time & language > Date & time and configure the correct time.
